Mastering Complexity: Bespoke Fitting Solutions for NZICC’s Premier Theatre

Following the successful completion of the Horizon Hotel, our team was commissioned to install the high-performance Topakustik wall paneling within the Te Paepae Theatre—the centerpiece of the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC). As a world-class venue, the requirement was for flawless acoustic performance paired with a seamless architectural finish.

This project presented a unique set of logistical and technical constraints:
High-Value Material Management: Working with premium Swiss-manufactured panels, we managed a "zero-waste" installation process. Given the long lead times and limited supply, every cut required absolute precision.
Architectural Innovation: To realize the complex, fluid forms of the theatre design, our team developed original fitting solutions on-site that went beyond the standard architectural drawings, ensuring the panels followed the building's unique geometry perfectly.

High-Stakes Environment: Executing precision work from Elevating Work Platforms (EWPs) at 12 meters required rigorous safety management. We maintained a high-cadence workflow in a congested site, coordinating closely with other contractors to ensure progress remained on track without compromising safety or quality.
